The history of the Hoferhof

We present the history of the Hoferhof.

1799

Josef Stiegler takes over the farm. The family traditionally always passes the farm on to their children, so the roots can still be found today.

1910 

Josefa Pilz (née Stiegler) and Peter Pilz take over the farm

1933

The daughter Josefa Pilz takes over and she married Heinrich Pilz from Fastenberg. Together they also create guest beds at the Hoferhof with active livestock and dairy farming. In addition to senior partner Herbert, the marriage also produced 6 children.  

1973 

Handover of the farm from Josefa Pilz to her second son Herbert Pilz.

1975 

Senior boss Herbert and senior boss Susanne get married and have 3 sons. Acquisition of the parents' farm with the main income from livestock and dairy farming and they also managed the guest rooms in the farmhouse. 

1987 

The apartment house was added. 

1989 

It was converted to organic farming and the Hoferalm was also purchased at this time.

2000 

The switch from dairy farming to mother-cow farming follows this year through the acquisition of our own hunting. The entire herd of cows spends the summer months on the mountain pasture.

2016 

Handover to the second son Andreas with his wife Corina. The breakfast room was renovated and expanded in 2018.

You work on the farm with two lovely sons and have many visions and plans for the future.

Today, in addition to farming, the Hoferhof offers cozy rooms and apartments for holiday guests. These accommodations combine rustic charm with modern comforts, allowing guests to immerse themselves in rural life without sacrificing amenities. The Pilz family and the Hoferhof team
